CallMiner Brings Holiday Cheer to Eva’s Closet Families

December 23, 2016

Ft. Myers, FL – December 23, 2016 — Each year during the holiday season, CallMiner, a Ft. Myers technology company, chooses a local charity to sponsor. This year it was Eva’s Closet, a local charity with a mission to “provide assistance to people in need, regardless of situation or circumstance, without judgment.”

Jessica Goodall, who founded Eva’s Closet in February, began working fulltime on the charity in May of this year after graduating from FGCU with a Masters in Social Work. Goodall’s great aunt, Eva, (Eva’s Closet’s namesake) was one of the founders of Abby’s House, a shelter for abused women in Worcester, MA. She fostered Jessica’s interest in social work at a young age.

“I was thrilled to learn that CallMiner wanted to sponsor Eva’s Closet this Christmas. We brought a Christmas tree into the office with 30 tags indicating items needed by families and individuals in Southwest Florida. Through the generosity of CallMiner employees, every need was met,” Goodall says.

“Most of the items went to people who have been homeless for some time and are just now getting back into housing. Many have little or nothing – no working stove or car seats for their children and no money for everyday household items. CallMiner employees filled these needs. It’s really beautiful,” Goodall continues.

In just under a year, Eva’s closet has helped and continues to assist around 80 families. “Goodall’s mission really struck a chord with CallMiner employees, who donated, among other gifts, car seats and strollers, microwaves and Walmart gift cards,” says Scott Kendrick, VP of Marketing. “Our rapid growth in the region has allowed us to strengthen our commitment and to expand our contribution to the community through volunteerism and charitable donations,” Kendrick continues.
